LINK Line Control

With LINK® Line Control, you get faster set-up, fewer operational errors, and compounded savings on waste and delay. The benefits you will gain:

  • Process line recipes. Combine discrete machine recipes into line recipes and download them simultaneously from one location. Greatly reduce set-up times and improve product uniformity between runs, and neutralize the effects of labor turnover and having to train new personnel on each piece of equipment.
  • Central data collection. This collates all data from various pieces of equipment for easier trending and reporting capabilities. Collected data can be exported and used for traceability documentation, or reviewed to determine proper process line optimization. Data and reports can also be accessed from desktop computers.
  • Line speed synchronization. The operator can speed up or slow down the entire line at the touch of a button, instead of going to each machine to manually adjust settings. This eliminates surges in belt transfers and gaps in product flow. Waste will be reduced, as well as unproductive labor cost.
  • Progressive stop function. If a piece of equipment fails in the line, this function stops all the upstream equipment and keeps the downstream equipment running. This eliminates a great deal of waste – especially to product that would be trapped in a heat source.
  • Mobile equipment management. The Mobile Equipment Manager lets you easily re-arrange portable equipment – conveyors, batter applicators, etc. The operator can view process variables, alarm status and change set points for the flexible equipment, applying the same process controls available to fixed equipment. The system will even alert the operator if the wrong equipment is connected.
  • Redundancy. PC control stations are located at a minimum of two points on the line. Between at least two of these PCs, there is full redundancy so, if one fails, you can still run the line from the other. Data is never lost, since it is ‘mirrored’ in both PCs.
